BACOLOD City – A 55-year-old Indian national survived an attack after he was shot by an unidentified assailant in Barangay Poblacion 2, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
Authorities have withheld the victim’s identity pending further investigation. According to the Sagay City Police Station, the shooting occurred at around 5:15 p.m. on June 17 while the victim was about to leave a relative’s house.
An unidentified male suspect, armed with an unknown caliber of firearm, approached and opened fire on the foreign national, hitting him on the left side of his stomach and chest.
The victim was rushed to Lopez District Farmers Hospital Inc. for initial treatment and later transferred to a private hospital in Bacolod City.
Police recovered one slug and two fired cartridge cases of an unidentified caliber from the crime scene.
An investigation was ongoing to determine the motive behind the attack. The suspect remained at large as of press time./PN
