BACOLOD City – Crossing the road turned fatal for an old man in Barangay Camingawan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
The 70-year-old resident Narciso Medes died after a jeepney hit him around 6 p.m. on Monday, a police report showed.
Police identified the jeepney driver as the 24-year-old Ven Mar Reyes of Barangay 9, Kabankalan City.
Medes sustained injuries on the different parts of the body and was rushed to the Holy Mother of Mercy Hospital in Kabankalan City where attending physician Dr. Ann Marie Salvo pronounced him “dead on arrival” around 8:10 p.m. on the same day.
Reyes, who surrendered after the incident, was detained at the Kabankalan City police station lockup facility./PN
