FORMER Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has reportedly been pursuing pop star Katy Perry since the first time they connected.
According to PEOPLE, Katy wasn’t initially looking for romance.
“When she first hung out with Justin, she wasn’t looking to date, but they stayed in touch. They have many shared interests and a lot to talk about, but Katy was navigating too many things to even think about dating then,” a source told the magazine.
The source added that Justin has “been pursuing her since” spending time together in Montreal in July.
“He even flew to California to see her during a tour break. They have an easy connection. She finds him attractive. He’s been very respectful,” the insider shared.
The two reportedly share mutual admiration and a growing romantic connection.
“Justin thinks she is terrific. It has had time to develop on a friend and intellectual level as well as supersized attraction. The romance has merit,” the source said.
The two were previously spotted kissing on a yacht in Santa Barbara, California in September.
Katy was previously in a relationship with Orlando Bloom. They announced their split on July 3.
“Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting,” said the statement shared by the ex-couple’s representative as per past report by PEOPLE.
“They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter [Daisy Dove, 4½] with love, stability, and mutual respect.”
Meanwhile, Justin was married to Sophie Grégoire. They announced that they were separating in August 2023.
“Sophie and I would like to share the fact that after many meaningful and difficult conversations, we have made the decision to separate,” Justin said in a statement he posted on his Instagram page in 2023.
