MANILA – Kaya Futbol Club-Iloilo and Stallion Laguna FC battled to a 1-1 stalemate, leaving the PFF Women’s League championship race hanging in the balance on Sunday night at the MoA Football Field in Pasay City.

Stallion-Laguna was looking headed to coronation after Chandler McDaniel surged them ahead with a conversion in the 63rd minute.

Julissa Cisneros, however, saved Kaya-Iloilo’s season with a stoppage time header, hiking the Mexican forward’s total to 13 goals.

Stallion-Laguna remained on top of the league table with 23 points, three clear of Kaya-Iloilo’s 20.

While Stallion-Laguna has already played its final game of the season, Kaya-Iloilo still has a match in hand in Makati FC on Saturday.

A win over Makati FC will give Kaya-Iloilo the championship, as it currently has a 35-20 goal differential over Stallion.

The trophy will stay in the box for now, and the league winner will be crowned this weekend.

In the first match, Makati FC rallied from a goal down to beat Capital1, 2-1.

Despite the defeat, the Solar Spikers were able to finish third with 19 points, three ahead of Makati FC’s 16.

Angelica Teves scored the 13th minute opener, but Makati FC was able to rebound courtesy of Kawinthinda Kikuntod a minute after the restart and Gae Yumanda’s 72nd minute strike./PN
