ILOILO City – Law enforcers apprehended three high-value suspects and seized 150 grams of suspected shabu worth around P1,020,000 in a buy-bust operation in Barangay McArthur, La Paz district here.
The suspects were identified as aliases “Jessie”, 56, and “Rene”, 48, both residents of the said barangay; and “Chuchai”, 39, of Barangay Baybay Norte, Miag-ao, Iloilo.
Officers of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 carried out the operation around 10 p.m on Sunday, July 13. Seized were three knot-tied transparent plastic bags and two heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu, P13,000 in buy-bust money, P700 in cash believed to be proceeds from their illegal activities, weighing scale, three mobile phones, and non-drug-related items.
The suspects were detained at the La Paz police station. They will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
