ILOILO City – A 54-year-old laborer was found dead inside his room in Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao district.
Did Rex Calinsangan of Barangay Bacolod, Miag-ao, Iloilo die of natural causes, or was he murdered? Mandurriao policemen are investigating the case.
A house companion said he discovered Calinsangan’s body around 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
Earlier in the day, Calinsangan, who was suffering from goiter, complained of pain in his neck, said the house companion whom the police did not identify.
“We are conducting an investigation to make sure there was no foul play,” said Chief Inspector Lea Rose Peña, Mandurriao police chief.
There were no wounds on the body to indicate that Calinsangan was attacked, said Peña.
Calinsangan’s family was not interested to have the body autopsied, she added./PN
