ILOILO City â Police were still trying to identify the burglar who barged into the office of the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) in Lambunao, Iloilo.
The culprit took around P150,000 worth of items.
SB secretary Rocil Latañafrancia was shocked when he entered their office at around 7 a.m. and discovered that three units of Acer laptop computers worth P30,000 each were missing.
The SBâs P50,000 ârevolving fundâ and P10,000 âcontribution fundâ kept inside his drawer were gone, too, Latañafrancia told the police.
The burglar gained entry by destroying the padlock of the backdoor using a bolo, according to initial investigation led by Chief Inspector Jogen Suegay, Lambunao police chief. The bolo was found on site.
Suegay believed the culprit was âvery familiarâ with the properties of the SB and how to go about in the municipal councilorsâ office./PN
