ILOILO – The Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region 6 is boosting its services by opening additional four district offices in the region.
Two district offices will soon open in Pototan and San Dionisio towns in Iloilo Province, and in Ilog, Negros Occidental, to ensure faster transactions and implementation of more effective transportation policies and regulations.
The current extension office in Iloilo’s San Miguel town will be converted into a full-fledged district office.
Atty. Gaudioso P. Geduspan II, director of LTO-6, emphasized that by establishing district offices in key locations, it can minimize and reduce travel time for motorists and residents when accessing LTO services while simultaneously reinforcing the commitment to road discipline and public safety.
“This is more than just opening new district offices. It’s about making government services accessible and ensuring our roads are safer for everyone,” he shared.
For his part, Assistant Regional Director Jeck D. Conlu echoed his view on the importance of combining education and effective information dissemination with policy enforcement, as an approach to make it easier for people to comply with the law.
Additionally, he highlighted the project’s alignment with the aspirations of local leaders and residents.
LTO envisions and anticipates that this reform will assist motorists and clients to experience shorter wait times and easier access to vehicle services that were previously available only in provincial centers, and that the agency also aims to improve road safety with stronger driver education and stricter traffic law enforcement.
The establishment of district offices was implemented right after President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos had signed laws creating new district offices of the LTO and upgrading several others in different areas in the country on March 14, 2025./PN
