UNITED States President Donald Trump is bringing in the National Guard and taking control of the Washington D.C. police to get rid of “crime”, good, “bloodshed”, good, “bedlam”, good, “squalor”, good but hard to do, and “worse”, what’s left?
Is this serious or just another distraction from the Epstein files matter?
The idea of asking homeless people to immediately leave Washington D.C. is both offensive and impractical. Most homeless people are homeless because they have no options due to illness, poverty or escaping from an even worse environment, not because they want to be. The idea of making them leave immediately requires some method of transport and most don’t have vehicles or the finances to do this and where do they go? “Far” is not a destination.
It is time for Donald Trump to be thrown out of his house or at least from the White House. He has the resources to house himself but I doubt he will do anything practical to help anyone else.

Moses, the devoted servant of God, split the Red Sea so the people could flee oppression. Vance, the devoted servant of Trump, saw the Little Miami River raised so he could go kayaking safely.

The best person for the job?
Donald Trump has announced that he will meet his friend/enemy Vladimir Putin and then Volodymyr Zelensky will be joining them for a three-way talk, hopefully in the same room rather than via Zoom or its equivalent.
Although one can’t be certain of how leaders regard each other, a number of people suggests that Putin sees Trump as a ‘useful fool’ and it’s unlikely that he will be happy with Zelensky.
If most people saw an elderly grandfather wandering around the roof of their home without any obvious purpose they would call for medical support and consider if they needed to be put into care and yet Donald Trump has done this and is now trying to stop a war.
If it must be an American to negotiate this, then why not Pope Leo XIV. I am sure that Trump, a bible carrying and selling Christian would have faith in him.

Remember the result
It is now 80 years from the two atomic bombings of Japan and we should remember the consequences.
On a recent trip through the Hiroshima Peace Park and Museum it was so easy to see how horrible it was for the civilians, the innocent and worse still, the children. It is an event that should never happen again and yet Putin has mentioned the possibility and the bombs are still ready to go.
“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” and those that ignore it and make threats are evil.

Death might be cheaper
The American medical system has faced many criticisms, mostly valid, especially in terms of cost and availability. Just when you think it couldn’t get worse, it does.
One disaster is the recent cuts, by Robert Kennedy Jr, of $US500 million in research into mRNA vaccines. Research would have helped to protect people, not harm them.
Another one is Trump’s proposed tariff of 250% on pharmaceuticals produced in Australia and other countries. This would seem to be designed to make Americans pay more for needed medicines or to bully Australian producers. All it will achieve, if it actually happens, is to harm American citizens.
