CAPIZ – A man was pronounced dead on arrival at the Bailan District Hospital after allegedly being attacked by his brother-in-law around 8:09 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 22, in Barangay East Villaflores, Maayon.
The victim was identified as 33-year-old Mark Dordas, while the suspect was identified as 34-year-old Jonel Carillo, a local businessman.
Initial investigation by the Maayon Municipal Police Station showed that Carillo allegedly witnessed Dordas assaulting his spouse, the suspect’s sister.
In response, Carillo reportedly hit Dordas using an alleged .45 caliber firearm, inflicting multiple wounds on various parts of his body.
Following the crime, the suspect swiftly fled the scene.
It remains unclear whether alcohol consumption influenced the victim and the suspect at the time of the incident.
At present, the authorities are pursuing the suspect, and further investigation is ongoing./PN
