ANTIQUE – A 33-year-old man was stabbed while pacifying an argument between two individuals in Barangay Esperanza, Culasi town yesterday.
Joseph Pongyan, a resident of the barangay, was rushed to the Culasi District Hospital for a stab wound on his stomach and an injury on his right finger.
Police identified the suspect as Leonard Eraga, a resident of the town’s Barangay Condez.
According to Culasi police, Eraga, who was allegedly drunk, and Roland Tamba had a heated argument.
Pongyan was only trying to quell the fight but he was stabbed by the suspect, police added.
The suspect immediately fled after the incident.
Culasi police said a hot pursuit operation against the suspect was ongoing as of this writing./PN
