ILOILO City – A 49-year-old man was arrested during a raid in his house in Barangay Santol, San Dionisio, Iloilo around 7:15 a.m. yesterday, August 7.
The suspect identified as Rey Pari-an was detained at the San Dionisio Municipal Police Station (MPS) after authorities recovered from his possession the following: homemade caliber .38 revolver without serial number, five rounds of .38 revolver ammunition, and 10 rounds of caliber .45 pistol ammunition.
The operation was carried out by personnel of the Regional Maritime Unit 6 (RMU-6) and San Dionisio MPS through the strength of a search warrant.
According to Police Major Janvier Gilza of RMU-6, Pari-an was also the suspect in shooting to death a 15-year-old boy identified as Martin Belza on March 9, 2025 in the said place due to misunderstanding.
“We are thankful to the tipster who informed us that the suspect owned a homemade gun. We immediately applied for a search warrant,” Gilza said./PN
