MERALCO PowerGen Corporation (MGEN), through its subsidiary Global Business Power Corporation (MThermal), has renewed their partnership with the Philippine Red Cross for their annual bloodletting drive. This vital initiative – carried out across MThermal’s facilities in Cebu and Panay, as well as its head office in Pasig – underscores MThermal’s steadfast commitment to community well-being, and a culture of care.
This year’s drive successfully gathered a total of 94,950 milliliters (mL) of blood from 131 successful donors, a collective contribution that can help the lives of up to 393 individuals.
In Cebu, 52 employees donated a total of 23,400 mL in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross – Cebu Chapter. In Panay, MThermal teamed up with the Philippine Red Cross – Iloilo Chapter, collecting 22,500 mL from 50 successful donors. The Pasig head office also joined the effort, working with the PRC – Rizal Chapter to contribute 13,050 mL from 29 donors.
These contributions directly support the local healthcare system and reflect the shared spirit of volunteerism within MThermal. Beyond numbers, this effort reinforces its broader mission to help build a healthier future for the communities it serves.
