ILOILO – A 21-year-old motorcycle rider died after his vehicle bumped into a concrete post around 1 a.m. yesterday, July 14, in Barangay Poblacion Ilawod, Lambunao town.
Police Captain Jose Winston Biadog, deputy chief of the Lambunao Municipal Police Station, said the victim identified as alias “Eugene”, a resident of the town’s Barangay Bansag, sustained severe head and body injuries.
He was rushed to the Dr. Ricardo Y. Ladrido District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
The victim, Biadog said, was on his way to work in Poblacion Ilawod when the accident occurred.
Police investigation revealed that the victim was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and was not wearing a helmet./PN
