ILOILO City – Grief gripped the family of the 38-year-old Armando Ruiz Jr. after he died in a tragic road accident involving a 10-wheeler dump truck in Barangay Balabago, Jaro district, on Tuesday morning, May 6.
Ruiz, a resident of Barangay Badiang, Anilao, Iloilo, was riding his motorcycle when he was reportedly hit and dragged by the dump truck driven by Raymund Cordero of Pototan town, resulting in fatal injuries, including severe head trauma.
The victim was rushed to the Metro Iloilo Hospital and Medical Center in Barangay Tagbak but was declared dead-on-arrival by the attending physician.
Police Executive Master Sergeant Arvin Duero, traffic investigator, said the incident was still under investigation, with the truck driver currently in police custody.
As of press time, Ruiz’s wife remained inconsolable and unable to decide on whether to file charges, police said./PN
