
GUIMARAS – Incumbent Gov. JC Rahman Nava and his wife, incumbent Rep. Lucille Nava, extended their dominance in this island province.
The spouses, who swapped posts, clinched landslide victories. Gov. Nava garnered 91,194 votes against his congressional rival Vicente de Asis who only got 10,305 votes, while Rep. Nava won the gubernatorial race with 94,970 votes against Maggie Cacho’s 5,024 votes.
They were officially proclaimed by the Commission on Election’s Provincial Board of Canvassers on Tuesday, May 13.
The Provincial Board of Canvassers also proclaimed Cecile Gumarin as vice governor-elect after securing 83,180 votes.
Also proclaimed as winners of the Provincial Board member seats are the following: Ariel Zambarrano, Rommel John Edang, Art Cartel, and Raymond Gavileno representing the 1st District; and Felipe “Nene” Nava, Dr. Alex Araneta, Atty. Paul De la Cruz, and Marilyn Edang for the 2nd District./PN
