ILOILO – Joint elements from the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6(RPDEU-6) and the Dumangas Municipal Police Station – Drug Enforcement Team successfully recovered nearly P2 million worth of suspected shabu and apprehended two high-value suspects.
The drug buy-bust operation, conducted at around 3:20 a.m. on All Saints’ Day, Nov. 1, in Barangay Jardin, Dumangas, led to the arrest of individuals known as alias “Ton-Ton” and alias “Tata.”
Another suspect, identified as alias “Errol,” is still at large.
All three suspects are residents of the barangay.
Police Captain Glen Soliman, head of RPDEU-6, said the house of one of the suspects served as a hub for illegal drugs.
He added that the supplies are believed to have originated from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Barangay Nanga, Pototan, and the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila.
Authorities seized more or less 280 grams of the illegal substance, with an estimated street value of P1.904 million, along with some drug paraphernalia.
The Dumangas Municipal Police Station has taken custody of Ton-Ton and Tata, who will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“Our diligent efforts have paid off today. This operation is a testament to our commitment to rid our community of the harmful effects of illegal drugs,” said Soliman.
Police Brigadier General Sidney Villaflor, director of the Police Regional Office 6, lauded the operating units for another high-impact accomplishment.
“By confiscating 280 grams of shabu, you have significantly disrupted the supply chain,” Villaflor said./PN
