BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental vice governor Jeffrey Ferrer confirmed over the weekend that the provincial government will return to a normal five-day work week starting March 1.
According to Ferrer, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson will release an executive order this week.
The country is beginning to a return to normalcy and majority of provincial government workers are already fully-vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), he pointed out.
The provincial government adopted a four-day work arrangement as part of localized health protocols against COVID-19.
As of Feb. 19, COVID-19 cases in Negros Occidental were declining, with active cases down to 1,486.
Since March of 2020, Negros Occidental had a total of 41,059 COVID-19 cases; 37,684 have now recovered while 1,888 died./PN
