No more active COVID-19 cases in Capiz

CAPIZ – The Provincial Health Office confirmed Capiz has no active cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) anymore.

Regional Case Bulletin No. 1035 of the Department of Health in Western Visayas as of Jan. 25 showed Capiz with zero active cases as of the moment after accumulating 13,611 total cases (with 568 total deaths) since the pandemic started in 2020.

The province also recorded zero percent positivity rate by the end of 2022.

Capiz is currently ranked lowest among the provinces and highly-urbanized cities in the region in COVID-19 cases.

Despite this, Provincial Health Officer II Dr. Ramon Alex Nolasco encouraged Capiznons to still observe minimum health protocols, like wearing a facemask and taking booster shots.

Vaccination rate for children aged 5 to 11 is low in Capiz.

 Gov. Fredenil H. Castro on Wednesday said, β€œWe continuously emphasize to our citizenry the utmost importance and indispensable benefits of immunization with primary and secondary series and booster doses, together with the strict adherence to minimum public health standards in your respective localities.”/PN
