No records for ‘Kokoy Villamin’ as well – PSA

MANILA – Just like for “Mary Grace Piattos”, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) also failed to find any records pertaining to a certain “Kokoy Villamin.”

According to PSA assistant national statistician Marizza Grande, they opted to search for Villamin’s records even if there is no request but it yielded negative results.

The name “Kokoy Villamin” allegedly appeared on receipts that Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio’s office submitted to justify its confidential funds use.

A House inquiry previously revealed that the name “Kokoy Villamin” was on multiple acknowledgment receipts in 2022 and 2023, but with varying handwriting and signatures.

“Tininginan po namin, naghintay po kami ng request dito. But wala po kaming nakitang record din pertaining to that person,” Grande said in an interview with Teleradyo Serbisyo. “Negative po yun sa verification namin.”

Grande added that the name “Kokoy” could be a nickname, but she also stressed that full names should be used in official documents.

The PSA earlier said that it found no birth, marriage, or death records for “Mary Grace Piattos”, another name that appeared in at least one receipt supposedly submitted by the OVP to the Commission on Audit to justify its 2022 confidential expenses.

“As of the moment, there’s no existing Mary Grace Piattos,” Grande said. “Karamihan kasi sa mga unregistered natin, yung mga marginalized.”

“But meron din tayong mangilan-ngilan na posibleng nasa civil registry office yung file, wala sa PSA, hindi pa na-endorse,” she added.

Duterte-Carpio has previously denied allegations of corruption and fund misuse, saying that the House investigation was part of political persecution./PN
