ILOILO City – A scrap buyer was arrested for swindling a seller.
Jesus Garingalao, a 51-year-old councilman of Barangay Malipayon here, was the seller. He turned over Joshua Jimenea, the 33-year-old scrap buyer, to Police Precinct 1.
Jimenea, a resident of Zone 12, Brgy. Calaparan, Arevalo district, did not pay him (Garingalao) for the scrap materials he sold, the village councilman complained.
If Garingalao were to be believed, he brought scrap items to Jimenea and these were valued at P60.
Jimenea told him to wait for a while, said Garingalao. But for hours Jimenea did not return.
Garingalao said he decided to look for the scrap buyer and eventually found him. There was a confrontation and Jimenea tried to flee.
Other barangay residents helped Garingalao subdue Jimenea.
The scrap buyer was taken to Police Precinct 1./PN
