BACOLOD City – Fewer cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) are being brought to hospitals and quarantine facilities in Negros Occidental.
Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said the number of patients quarantined at the E.B. Magalona Healing Center is down to 52, while the quarantine facilities in Cadiz and Silay City have 16 and 22 patients, respectively.
As for the hospitals, Diaz said, 27 beds in Valladolid District Hospital – 69 percent of designated COVID-19 beds – are currently occupied, with 10 vacant beds.
The Cadiz City District Hospital, meanwhile, reported currently treating 89 patients, or 95 percent occupancy.
The Valeriano Gatuslao District Hospital in Himamaylan City also noted a decrease with only 38 beds or 74 percent occupied with 13 vacant beds.
Despite the continued reduction in new and active COVID-19 cases, Diaz is appealing to Negrenses to continue observing the health protocols, as well as to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
As of Oct. 26, Negros Occidental had 3,460 active COVID-19 cases./PN
