OIL firms have announced price adjustments on July 29, but areas affected by recent storms have been excluded.
In separate advisories, Seaoil and Jetti said prices of their diesel products would be hiked by P0.60 per liter effective 6 a.m. today, but diesel prices would be reduced by P0.10 per liter.
“The adjustments reflect the movement on prices of refined fuel products, freight and market premiums in the international market,” Jetti said in a statement.
Seaoil will also increase kerosene price by P0.40 per liter.
“In support of DOE’s request, SEAOIL will defer the diesel price adjustment this week in typhoon-affected areas – Regions 1 and 2,” Seaoil said.
Meanwhile, Jetti said excluded from these price adjustments are the provinces of Pangasinan, Pampanga, Bataan, Cavite, Rizal, Bulacan, Oriental Mindoro, and Negros Occidental, as well as the National Capital Region.
Parts of Luzon and even the Visayas were battered by Severe Tropical Storm “Crising”, Tropical Storm “Dante”, and Typhoon “Emong” in the past weeks.
Areas in several regions have declared a state of calamity, including the cities of Alaminos, San Carlos, and Dagupan in Pangasinan and the municipalities of Anda, Mabini, Dasol, Umingan, Calasiao, Sta. Barbara, Malasiqui, Lingayen, Mangaldan, Mangatarem, Bayambang and Aguilar. (PNA)
