Over 200 fugitives fall in weeklong crackdown

ILOILO City – In a weeklong crackdown across Western Visayas, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) apprehended 204 fugitives.

From June 10 to June 16, law enforcement units concentrated their efforts on capturing individuals wanted for various offenses.

Of the total arrests, 47 individuals were classified as “most wanted”, including top 10 fugitives, while the remaining 157 were apprehended for lesser offenses.

The breakdown of arrests by province showed significant contributions from various police units. Iloilo Provincial Police Office led with 16 high-profile captures, followed by Negros Occidental with 13.

Smaller numbers were reported from Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and the cities of Bacolod and Iloilo.

Less serious offenses led to arrests by the Aklan Police Provincial Office (17), Negros Occidental (58), and Iloilo (38), among others.

Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the PRO-6, praised the operations and the dedication of police personnel in ensuring the safety and security of the community.

“These arrests demonstrate PRO-6’s resolve to bring all wanted persons to justice,” Wanky said.

He emphasized the impact of continuous efforts on the ground and challenged other stations to intensify their operations and track down individuals with pending criminal cases./PN
