ILOILO – Passi City emerged as the top locality in this province in terms of the distribution of Certificates of Condonation with Release of Mortgage (CoCRoM).
Following the conclusion of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR)-Iloilo’s weeklong activity on Monday, April 28, a total of 859 CoCRoM certificates, covering 524.4364 hectares of agricultural land, were awarded to around 524 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) across the province. Passi City accounted for the largest share, distributing 300 certificates to 177 ARBs.
Beneficiaries from the municipalities of Janiuay, New Lucena, Oton, Pavia, San Enrique, Sta. Barbara, and Tigbauan were also relieved of their financial obligations to the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) after receiving their CoCRoM certificates.
The CoCRoM certifies the condonation of ARBs’ land amortization debts with LBP in accordance with Republic Act No. 11953, or the “New Agrarian Emancipation Act,” signed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on July 7, 2023.
DAR Iloilo launched the province-wide distribution on April 23./PN
