BACOLOD City – Recent police operations against illegal drugs across the region yielded about P4,168,800 worth of suspected shabu. Five drug suspects were also arrested.
The Bacolod City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit successfully executed a buy-bust in the early hours of Jan. 14 in Purok Magnolia, Barangay 7.
The operation resulted in the arrest of two individuals with aliases “Rhodora” and “Romel.”
Approximately 206 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P1,400,800, were seized.
Also recovered were the buy-bust money, cash believed to be illegal drug proceeds, a homemade 9mm pistol with magazine, and live ammunition.
In Iloilo province, the Dumangas Municipal Police Station (MPS) apprehended “Genel,” a high-value suspect in Barangay Paloc Sool.
The local police implemented a search warrant issued by Hon. Vicente V. Go, Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court 6, Branch 68 in Dumangas dated Jan. 12, 2024.
The search yielded a caliber .38 revolver without a serial number, loaded with two live rounds.
Over 255 grams of suspected shabu, worth P1,734,000, were also seized.
The Calinog MPS, also in Iloilo province, carried out an antidrug operation resulting in the arrest of “Jet-jet” in Barangay Poblacion Ilaya.
More or less 40 grams of suspected shabu valued at P320,600 were recovered.
Meanwhile, in Capiz, the Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit collared “Bading Jablo,” a high-value suspect in Barangay Cudian, Ivisan.
A total of 105 grams of shabu, with a standard drug price of P714,000, were recovered.
All the arrested individuals are in police custody and will be facing charges under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
