Over P700K ‘shabu’ seized in Arevalo drug sting

ILOILO City – Four suspects were arrested during an anti-illegal drug operation in Zone 13, Barangay Calaparan, Arevalo district.

Alias “Cyril”, 34, a resident of the said place, was apprehended after he handed a plastic sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer for P6,000 on Tuesday night, July 29.

The suspect was classified as a high-value target, according to Captain Roque Gimeno III, officer-in-charge of the Iloilo City Police Office’s City Drug Enforcement Unit.

Also arrested were aliases “Jomar”, 55, a resident of Barangay Bitas, Tigbauan, Iloilo; “Rodolf”, 25, of Zone 3, Boulevard, Molo district; and “Balerie”, 42, from Barangay Calaparan.

Police confiscated a total of 15 plastic sachets of the aforementioned illegal substance weighing around 103 grams and with an estimated street value of P703,000.

The suspects were detained at Arevalo police station. They will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
