P1-M ‘shabu’ seized from SHS student, event organizer

ILOILO City – A senior high school student (SHS) and an event organizer were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation around 1:05 a.m. yesterday in Barangay San Jose, Arevalo district.

Sam Deanrick Saenz, 19, was a resident of Barangay Lopez Jaena Norte, La Paz district while John Rex Valentino alias “Bords”, 36, was from Zone 5, Barangay Ingore, La Paz.

Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU-6) said Saenz was the No. 6 high-value suspected drug personality in Western Visayas.

Elements of the RPDEU-6 and Arevalo Police Station confiscated 22 sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 170 grams and valued at P1,156,000 in the  buy-bust.

Also recovered were P25,000 in buy-bust money, two cell phones, and P1,350 cash believed to be drug sale proceeds.

The suspects were detained at the Arevalo Police Station and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
