
BUENAVISTA, Guimaras – The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Buenavista Guimaras turned over the promised P100,000 cash rewards for the witnesses of Claire Diergos murder case last Friday, January 28, 2022.
Sanguniang Bayan (SB) member Raquel Aungon Sambas together with Atty. Antonio Ramos, the Municipal Legal Officer of LGU-Buenavista turn-over the P100,000 cash reward, that Mayor Eugenio Gallo Reyes promised to give to the witness on the said case.
The turned over was held at Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) headquarters in Santa Barbara, Iloilo wherein Police Colonel Adrian V. Acollador, the provincial director received the cash reward.
The amount will be distributed to the witnesses that shed light on the murder of Claire Diego’s.
According to Acollador, the Diergos family agreed to give the cash reward to primary or vital witnesses and secondary witnesses of the murder case. The three primary witnesses will receive P20, 000 each while the remaining P40,000 will be divided into the 3 secondary witnesses.
Iloilo Police Provincial Office appreciates and gives thanks to Mayor Eugenio Gallo Reyes for his initiative to give cash rewards to the witnesses. The cash reward came from Mayor Reyes’s pocket to speed up the release of the money.
Diergos, 36, is a native of Barangay New Poblacion, Buenavista. She was found dead in an abandoned vehicle in Barangay Inangayan, Santa Barbara last October 26, 2021.
Last January 5, 2022, the Special Investigation Team of IPPO files a complaint against 10 suspects. Out of 10 suspects, eight were identified as Peter Paul Lopez, Saliha “Saly” Lopez, Carlos Paul Lopez, Felix Paul Lopez, Christian Paul Lopez, Raffy Sorioso, Gardo Ibrahim and Rudelyn Sumbong./PN
