BACOLOD City – Plastic packs of suspected shabu worth an estimated P1 million were seized from four men during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Singcang-Airport.

The operation at 8 p.m. Wednesday followed another one past midnight in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental that yielded 6 kilos of the same substance.

Arrested in the evening operation were Pastor Palo, Renante Sonalan, Jesus Paurillo, and Jesus Rodriguez, all residents of Singcang-Airport, a police report showed.

Seized from them were 21 plastic packs of suspected shabu, a digital weighing scale and the P500 marked money.

The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Bacolod City Police Office staged the operation. They tagged the four as “newly identified drug personalities.”

All four suspects were detained in the custodial facility of Police Station 8 in Barangay Tangub.

Inspector Adrian James Albaytar, assistant team leader of the CDEU, led the buy-bust operation.

In the San Carlos City operation, the suspected shabu were contained in six tape-sealed plastic pouches weighing a kilogram each.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency estimated the seizure’s value at P40 million while the San Carlos City police station placed it at P72 million.

But the PDEA and the San Carlos police failed to catch the targets of this operation.

Also in this city on Tuesday P1.4 million worth of suspected shabu were seized from two Maranao traders in Barangay 4.

An entrapment operation the police staged around 5:30 p.m. led to the arrest of Faisalin Ibra, 21, and Norhan Caunda, 42.

Both residents of Marawi City, Lanao del Sur, the suspects lived at the Islamic Center on Lopez Jaena Street prior to their arrest./PN
