P256K ‘shabu’ seized from 4 suspects in Molo

ILOILO City – Twelve plastic sachets of suspected shabu approximately valued at P256,000 were confiscated from four drug suspects in a buy-bust operation in Zone 3, Barangay Boulevard, Molo district on Monday night, September 30.

The suspects identified as Meljohn Naya, 30, the subject of the operation; Rene Parcia, 24; Mark Anthony Lopez, 32; and Jersel Lobaton, 56, were collared by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 6’s (PDEA) Regional Special Enforcement Team Alpha and Police Drug Enforcement Group.

Also seized was P16,000 in buy-bust money.

Naya, in an interview, denied selling illegal drugs but admitted to being a drug user.

The three others also confessed to using illegal drugs.

The suspects were detained at the Molo police station. Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, were being prepared against them./PN
