ILOILO City – Joint operatives of the Iloilo City Police Office‘s City Drug Enforcement Unit and Police Station 8 (PS8) apprehended a high-value drug suspect around 11:16 p.m. on July 17 in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Mansaya, Lapuz district.
The suspect identified as alias “Nene”, 35, and a resident of La Paz district, yielded 19 plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 60 grams and with an estimated drug price of P408,000.
Also recovered were buy-bust money and non-drug-related items.
The suspect was detained at PS8 and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police Brigadier General Josefino D. Ligan, director of the Police Regional Office 6, lauded the operatives on the successful antidrug operation.
“This is just a manifestation of your dedication to make Western Visayas a drug-free region. Let us continue to do our job well and with a heart,” said Ligan./PN
