ILOILO – Around 78.2 grams of suspected shabu approximately valued at P528,000 were confiscated from three men in a drug buy-bust operation in Purok 2, Barangay Pani-an, Balasan town.
Operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of Balasan Municipal Police Station (MPS), who carried out the operation around 1:14 p.m. on July 3, arrested alias “Poyang,” 19, a resident of Barangay Pani-an and classified as high-value target; and aliases “Jay,” 22, of Barangay Balantian, and “Kurt,” 21, of Barangay Poblacion Norte, who were both tagged as street-level targets.
Prior to their arrest, the police received information from concerned citizens that the suspects were engaged in illegal drug activity.
According to the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), during a five-month monitoring the suspects were confirmed to be operating not only in Balasan but also in neighboring towns.
The suspects are now under the custody of the Balasan MPS. They will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
