P595K worth of ‘shabu’ seized in Antique

ANTIQUE – A high-value drug suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation that led to the confiscation of over P595,000 worth of suspected shabu in District III, Sibalom town.

The 32-year-old alias “Win,” a backhoe operator and resident of Valderrama town, was apprehended at around 12:52 a.m. on July 15 by operatives of the Antique Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit.

Authorities recovered approximately 85 grams of suspected shabu, packed in six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, along with the buy-bust money, a motorcycle without a plate number, and a coin purse.

The operation was conducted in coordination with the Station Drug Enforcement Team of the Sibalom Municipal Police Station and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Antique.

Police Brigadier General Jose P. Ligan, director of the Police Regional Office 6, lauded the successful operation, emphasizing the region’s unwavering stance against illegal drugs.
