P986K ‘shabu’ seized, seven collared

ILOILO City – Two police operations carried out in a single day in this city led to the confiscation of more or less 145 grams of suspected shabu worth P986,000 and the arrest of seven drug suspects.

At approximately 4:19 p.m. on Feb. 7, in Zone 2, Barangay Rizal, La Paz, four men were found in possession of 19 plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 80 grams and with a standard drug price of P544,000.

The suspects, who were only identified as “Odong,” “Ryan,” and “Bayani,” were all tagged by police as high-value individuals, while alias “Nonoy” was tagged as a street-level individual.

The buy-bust operation was carried out by the Iloilo City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit (ICPO-CDEU), together with Police Station 2, Iloilo City Mobile Force Company, and the Regional Maritime Unit 6.

Earlier on the same day, around 3:35 p.m. in Barangay Rizal Estanzuela, Iloilo City Proper, about 65 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P442,000 were seized.

Three high-value drug suspects, identified as “Toto,” “Jayr,” and “Melboy,” were apprehended by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6, ICPO-CDEU, ICPO-Special Weapons and Tactics, and Police Station 1.

All arrested individuals are being held by the city police for proper disposition and filing of charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
