Palace: Gov’t to continue operations during Holy Week

MANILA – Malacañang has guaranteed the public that government operations will proceed uninterrupted throughout Holy Week.

According to Presidential Communications Office’s Undersecretary Claire Castro, certain government officials and agencies responsible for maintaining order during holidays will not have any time off.

Castro said President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has already instructed the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to intensify their monitoring efforts to ensure the safety and convenience of commuters.

Hindi lamang po sa DOTr, pero sa mga attached agencies po to ensure the safety and convenience of all the passengers who will be traveling to their hometowns or will have vacations,” she added.

The Palace official also pointed out that while crime and other incidents may arise during the holiday, the government remains vigilant.

Meanwhile, Castro said that President Marcos will be with his family during the Holy Week, but did not specify whether they are in the country or in abroad./PN
