MANILA – Malacañang urged people privy to supposed disputes at the Nayong Pilipino Foundation (NPF) to “come forward” and “file a complaint.”
“Reports of an ongoing rift in the Nayong Pilipino Foundation have reached the Office of the Executive Secretary,” Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque said on Wednesday.
Their concerns may be directed to the Office of the President, Roque said.
The NPF is an attached agency of the Department of Tourism.
The NPF Board of Trustees has been accused of violating a travel ban on government officials when they flew to Korea in September last year.
No public fund was used to cover their travel expenses, their spokesperson Joyce Reano said.
NPF head Patricia Yvette Ocampo, on the other hand, filed a cyber-libel complaint against Maria Fema Duterte, a relative of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Ocampo claimed that Maria Fema accused her of corruption on social media.
“She was accusing us, through social media posts, that we are corrupt and we are making the Nayong Pilipino an ATM (automated teller machine) despite the fact that what we are getting from Nayong Pilipino are honoraria,” said Ocampo./PN
