Pavia drug bust nets high-value target with P578K ‘shabu’

ILOILO – Anti-drug operatives apprehended a high-value individual during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Ungka 2, Pavia town.

The suspect, alias “John,” 40, single, and a resident of Barangay Balabag, Santa Barbara, Iloilo, was caught in possession of approximately 85 grams of suspected shabu valued at P587,000 at around 4:39 p.m. on September 18.

The joint operation was carried out by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s (IPPO) Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit Team and Pavia Municipal Police Station (MPS) with support from the Police Regional Office 6’s (PRO-6) Regional Intelligence Unit.

Confiscated from the suspect were eight plastic sachets of suspected shabu, buy-bust money, and non-drug-related items.

The suspect was detained at the Pavia MPS, facing charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
