MANILA – The country’s close ties with China took another twist on Monday when Foreign Affairs secretary Teodoro Locsin told the latter to “get the f– out” of the Philippine waters.
Locsin made the remarks as the country fires off two new diplomatic protests against the Chinese Coast Guard’s “belligerent” actions to the Philippine Coast Guard vessels patrolling and conducting training exercises in the vicinity of Scarborough Shoal or Bajo de Masinloc.
“China, my friend, how politely can I put it? Let me see… O…GET THE F– OUT. What are you doing to our friendship? You. Not us. We’re trying. You. You’re like an ugly oaf forcing your attentions on a handsome guy who wants to be a friend; not to father a Chinese province,” Locsin wrote on his Twitter account.
In the latest protests, the Department of Foreign Affairs complained about the Chinese Coast Guard’s “shadowing, blocking, dangerous maneuver, and radio challenges” while the Philippine Coast Guard and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources were conducting exercises near Bajo de Masinloc.
It also stressed that China’s sovereignty claim over Bajo de Masinloc was “without basis in international law” and is “not recognized by the international community.”
The country also protested the prolonged and illegal stay of Chinese fishing vessels and maritime militias in the exclusive economic zone since January, which as of the latest count is at around 160./PN
