ROXAS City – A father and son were facing a murder charge for allegedly hacking to death a man in Barangay Binuntucan, Pontevedra, Capiz.
They were the 68-year-old Jose Pepito Sia and 31-year-old Ariel, residents of the village, a police report showed.
The Sias were arrested in a hot pursuit operation after they hacked another resident Arnel Daynolo, 36.
The Sias and Daynolo had a heated argument while they were binge drinking on Saturday, police said.
That was when the older Sia attacked Daynolo with an espading, the same weapon that his son used in hacking the victim, the police added.
According to investigators, old grudge was the motive in the hacking.
The Sias were detained at the Pontevedra police station lockup facility./PN
