ILOILO – A 35-year-old man was fatally stabbed while sleeping inside a poultry farm in Barangay Cabilauan, Barotac Nuevo town early yesterday morning, October 3.

Romnick Isidro, a resident of Laua-an, Antique, succumbed to multiple stab wounds.

According to Captain Cedrick Cruz, chief of the Barotac Nuevo Municipal Police Station, Isidro was discovered lifeless in his bed, covered in blood.

A closed-circuit television camera footage revealed three individuals entered the poultry farm on Wednesday night, and one of them was recognized by a witness, police said.

As of this writing, Cruz said they have identified the suspects, two of whom were former workers of the poultry farm who left their jobs three months prior.

The police chief said they suspected that a financial dispute between the suspects and the victim may have led to the crime, though investigators found no prior personal conflicts between them.

The suspects, who are not originally from the area, remained at large as of yesterday. A hot pursuit operation against the suspects is currently ongoing./PN
