PRICES of over 150 Christmas product lines saw increases from last year, the Noche Buena Price Guide released by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) yesterday revealed.
The Noche Buena Price Guide indicated there were 152 out of 240 product lines that saw price increases from last year, as suggested by manufacturers to retailers, effective until Dec. 31, 2023.
The latest price guide covers ham, fruit cocktail, cheese, keso de bola, mayonnaise, all-purpose cream, sandwich spread, pasta/spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, elbow macaroni, tomato sauce, and salad macaroni.
In its advisory, the DTI called on consumers to exercise comparison in shopping and consider all options, check the labels of the products before purchasing, inspect the quality to avoid counterfeit items, and watch out for discounts. (GMA Integrated News)
