REGINE Velasquez voiced her disappointment after receiving a complaint from a fan who appeared unsatisfied with their meet and greet experience with Asia’s Songbird.
The veteran singer addressed the matter through her X (formerly Twitter) page on Wednesday, Aug. 13.
“Hello, everyone. Someone complained that she was pushed during the meet and greet,” she began, referring to her recent “Super Divas” concert with comedian Vice Ganda.
Velasquez noted that while she is grateful for the support she has been receiving during her shows, she cannot always accommodate every fan the way they want to.
“I am aware that you want every single meeting to be meaningful. Unfortunately, it will not always be the case because we do not always have time,” she explained.
“I am not a robot that does not get tired,” she stressed.
Particularly pointing out the recent complaint, Velasquez clarified certain details of the incident. Based on the singer’s post, the fan claimed that she was pushed by Velasquez’s sister during the event.
“I want to correct her (fan) that my sister Diane didn’t push you or said, ‘Are you going to pay for the venue?’ It was the other girl who actually said that,” the singer clarified. “I know because she was so close to my ear when she said it.”
“There were a lot of people there, and they kept reminding everyone to each take one photo only because it was already midnight. But you insisted on having a selfie,” Velasquez recalled.
Velasquez further underscored that she had a video to prove that her sister did not push the fan.
“My sisters and the rest of the people there were just trying to make sure we’re safe,” she continued. “I was performing on stage since 8 p.m. Both Vice and I were so tired but we are so thankful for you guys that was why we still accommodated photo requests.”
“I am not angry but I’m disappointed,” she admitted.
In the comments section, one netizen claimed that it was her who sent the complaint privately, and clarified that she did not intend to embarrass or attack anyone.” (Anne Pasajol © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
