Road crash kills motorcycle rider

BACOLOD City – The motorcycle he was riding crashed against another motorcycle on the national highway at Crossing High School in Barangay Lag-asan, Bago City, Negros Occidental.

The 25-year-old John Mainit of Barangay 3, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental expired at the Bago City Hospital, a police report showed.

Mainit sustained serious head injuries, the report added.

The incident which happened around 11:15 p.m. on Sunday also injured the 34-year-old driver Agustin Granada lll and another back rider Felipe Gumban, 38 – both residents of Barangay Ubay, Pulupandan, Negros Occidental.

Granada and Gumban were also rushed to the Bago City Hospital but later transferred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City for further treatment.

Mainit, Granada and Gumban were on board a Rusi 110 motorcycle heading south when the crash happened, police said.

The driver of the other motorcycle, who was still unidentified as of this writing, fled after the incident. Police were still locating him./PN
