ROXAS CITY, Capiz – This city hosted the 1st Western Visayas Youth Leadership Summit from March 31 to April 1, 2022.
Led by Positive Youth Development Network, the three-day event aimed at strengthening youth programming in region 6.
The young leaders and advocates tackled and finalized the Regional Youth Development Agenda 2022-2025,
the formation and adaption of the Youth Agenda, and the election of the pioneering Committee of One Western Visayas Youth Coalition.
The region-wide youth-led coalition also aimed at enhancing the capabilities of youths in terms of leadership, artistic skills, development, and impact as well as the spirit of camaraderie.
The summit focused on the seven identified priority issues of the youth as Mental Health, Education, Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, Economic Empowerment / Work Opportunities, Agriculture, Environment, Tourism, and Culture.
The program was composed of leadership development, coalition-building, civic education, and engagement activities anchored on the principles of Positive Youth Development, creating an enabling and productive environment for the Youth.
Meanwhile, Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas expressed that Roxas City is honored to host the said event.
Dadivas was represented by his son Miguel Dadivas who is also a youth together with the participants and has an interest to collaborate with them especially the youth of Roxas City
The event was in partnership with Youth Leadership for Democracy, US Agency for International Development (USAID), Asia Foundation, YouthLed PH, Gerry Roxas Foundation and
