ROXAS City – One among the five drug suspects caught in a sting operation in Barangay Inzo Arnaldo Village denied link to the drug trade.
Julius Cabanus said he, Joselito Boliver, Winces John Diaz, Joshua James Bacud, and Clemente Andrade III were just having a drinking binge when officers from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 6 stormed into their apartment around 10:20 p.m. on Friday.
Cabanus said he was willing to be subjected to a drug test to prove his claim.
PDEA agents said a total of 15 sachets of suspected shabu were recovered from the suspects.
This was after Cabanus sold suspected shabu to poseur-buyer for P1,000, PDEA agents added.
A P500 cash, a cellphone and drug paraphernalia were also confiscated from the suspects, who were then brought to Iloilo City for a drug test.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against them./PN
