BACOLOD City – For claiming on social media that he was positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), a teen was arrested in Barangay Plaridel, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
Police identified him as 18-year-old resident Argie Ligaray.
According to Sagay City acting police chief, Major Antonio Benitez Jr., Ligaray was caught around 12:30 p.m. on April 13.
Ligaray was detained in the custodial facility of the Sagay City police station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 11469, or the Bayanihan to Heal as one Act of 2020, which strictly forbids spreading false information about COVID-19./PN
