BACOLOD City – Beleaguered Senior Superintendent William Señoron was ordered to report to the national police headquarters in Camp Crame.

No less than Director General Ronald Dela Rosa, Philippine National Police chief, ordered Señoron’s transfer from the Police Regional Office 18 (PRO-18).

Señoron was relieved as Negros Occidental police director due to his alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade.

He questioned his relief. “I do not know what pressure forced our regional director to relieve me,” Señoron said of Chief Superintendent Renato Gumban. “My relief order should have come from Camp Crame because I am a third-level officer. What is the legal basis of the regional office?”

Five officers were relieved over similar allegation: Superintendent Edel Jose Manzano, Superintendent Placido Gentoleo, Superintendent Antonietto Cañete, Chief Inspector Edison Garcia, and Police Officer 1 Eric Alcosaba.

Señoron said he has learned that his name was in a “drug matrix” now with President Rodrigo Duterte.

“Something is clearly not right here,” he said. “Someone with vicious interests is mounting so much pressure on the regional head of the PNP. Unfortunately someone higher than me gave in to the pressure.”

Drug suspect Ricky Serenio, former member of the Berya drug group, tagged Señoron to the illicit trade.

Earlier Señoron said he would shoot himself in front of the PRO-18 if the allegations of Serenio are proven true.

“Just do it,” Gumban said in a radio interview in reaction to Señoron’s statement. “You said that. You should do it.”

Señoron celebrated his birthday on Thursday. The police official said he has been in the service for 30 years now.

“All that matters is my integrity, honor, dignity, and untarnished image that I can leave my children, relatives and friends [with],” he said.

“All [these] are about to vanish into thin air, all because of the unverified contents of the supplemental affidavit executed by a felon in the name of Ricky Serenio a self-confessed bagman of Berya (Tolentino), one of the syndicates operating in Bacolod and in the province,” Señoron said./PN
