BACOLOD City – Silay Component City Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Team successfully carried out a drug buy-bust operation, resulting in the seizure of P1,108,400 worth of suspected shabu in Purok Ipil-ipil, Barangay Mambulac, Silay City, Negros Occidental.
The operation at around 4:32 p.m. on Friday, March 1, led to the arrest of suspect Mary Ann Lim, also known as “Bebing,” a 58-year-old widow and resident of the locality.
Law enforcement recovered nine sachets of suspected shabu, including the buy-bust item weighing 163 grams and various non-drug-related materials.
The seized drug items were forwarded to the Negros Occidental Provincial Forensic Unit 6 for further examination and processing.
Lieutenant Colonel Mark Anthony Darroca, chief of Silay Component City Police Station, said the suspect had been under surveillance for months and is also allegedly the source of illegal drugs in the cities of Talisay, Bacolod, Victorias, and the town of EB Magalona.
The arrested person is now in the custody of the Silay City police and will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
