‘Some execs don’t pay power bills on time’

ROXAS City — Some government officials in the province are not paying their monthly electric bills on time, the Capiz Electric Cooperative’s (Capelco) general manager said.

This is just one of the problems Capelco encounters every collection time, Engr. Edgar Diaz said during a recent Sangguniang Panlungsod session.

Diaz, however, did not name names.

All he said was that what these government officials and other ordinary citizens are doing is unfair to their member-consumers who diligently pay.

The delays of payments to Capelco results in the delay of Capelco’s payments to its power supplier, Diaz said.

If worse comes to worst and Capelco fails to pay its monthly obligation to its suppliers, the latter might stop providing electricity to consumers, and those who regularly and promptly pay their bills will not be spared, he warned.

Diaz appealed to their member-consumers to pay their monthly electric bills on time./PN
